Blog Updating Service
Google.com has a blog search at http://blogsearch.google.com that seems to work well. I found only one of the frankhagan.com articles listed, so I dug into their FAQ a little bit. Seems there are “blog updater services” such as Weblogs.com, and Google uses them to determine when to crawl the blogs. WordPress, the blog of choice here at frankhagan.com, already has one updater in its configuration, but I went ahead and added Weblogs.com as well. I’ll have to see if that helps increase the number of sites that link to me.
Generating traffic to the site is difficult for me. My views don’t seem consistent enough with the more conservative Christian blogs, which seem hell-bent on defending creationism and ID, but I’m not liberal enough for the higher church crowd. Readers know how I feel about the Creationism issue, and while the higher church folks like my views there, I’m afraid I’m a horrible disappointment when it comes to things like ordination of sexually active gays. My political ramblings are also a bit less strident than the Ann Coulter style of invective-laden discourse, but not liberal enough for the self-proclaimed “moderates” out there (who are also infected with invective!)
And so it goes. We’ll see what kind of response we get as the blog continues.
I have thought about starting a political discussion forum
