KT Tunstall Again
I commented on KT Tunstall back in October, 2006.
I know I’m not in her usual demographic, but I think this girl is very talented. Her new video is shocking some of her fans, as she morphs through several different “styles” of rock, including glam and techno. But I laughed …
she seems to be joking around, and the clues for the humor impaired are the very endings of each little snippet, when she uses a dismissive gesture (especially evident in the techno segment). Its a send up, folks. Here’s YouTube’s copy of her video:
Oh, and listen to the words … “Hang On” continues her efforts at having meaningful lyrics, something not always found today. And the lyrics and video can be taken together to find the deeper meaning, which ain’t all that deep folks … let the music and the words speak louder than the images, and you’ll get the message:

Her new album goes on sale here in the US on 9/18/07, so I’ll undoubtably get it. There’s always a bit of fear that she will go completely “commercial”, with polished image, “cause ribbons” and all the other trappings, but I hope not. She and her band seem to have fun when they play their music, and they don’t act mad all the time. It is, as I said, refreshing.
