Coo-coo Left Calls for a Coup!
And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming …
Martin Lewis, obviously named after a famous comedy duo, has come out with an Open Letter to General Peter Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to invoke a provision of the UCMJ (Uniform Code Of Military Justice) to relieve President Bush of his duty as Commander in Chief.
Evidently, he believes that the UCMJ trumps the Constitution, and that the election we had to elect the President really doesn’t matter. Mr. Lewis might take after the Lewis of Martin & Lewis, treating us to humor of the wacky sort. Or it could be the left’s frustration at holding “100 hearings so far” and not finding an impeachable offense. Some of these folks are becoming unhinged.
Captain Ed gives some great analysis here, including some challenges to others at the Huffington Post to chime in on the idea.
There is one good thing at the very end of Martin Lewis’ blog. I’m sure he meant it as a slam against President Bush, but in fact, he ended his outrageous blog with two sidebars and two pictures that exemplify what is great about America. At the end, he lists all the medals and commendations General Peter Pace has earned in his military career, and a picture shows an unidentified military jacket with a mass of medals and ribbons. The second sidebar has President Bush’s “Military Honors and Decorations” … with a notation that there are none. A plain jacket is shown, devoid of the colorful military ribbons.
YES! Finally a liberal gets it!
That’s exactly what is great about America. Our armed forces serve the civilian government, and not even General Peter Pace – hero that he is – can interfere with that.
