Henry Neufeld on Creationism

By Frank, March 15, 2008

I have always identified strongly with Henry Neufeld’s stance on evolution and creationism, and find now that his background mirrors mine in this one respect: we have both moved from “Young Earth Creationist” to realizing that evolutionary theory is true.

In his blog post Why I Quit Trusting Creationist Writers, Henry notes that when he actually studied evolution, he found it didn’t say what the Creationists contended. My experience is very similar. I was prompted to start investigating what science really said after feeling betrayed by lies from Creationists.

While we share much on this issue and probably more on matters of faith, there is no mistaking me for him. Henry is an accomplished author, President of Pacesetters Bible School, and publisher (Energion Publications), and is therefore officially a “smart guy”. No matter, while some like Henry are called to greatness, the rest of us are called to mediocrity. But at least we retain the ability to learn and profit from the brighter lights among us.
