117 MPG? Man, I want one!

Is this too cool, or what:

Too Cool electric/diesel Hybrid

H/T to AutoBlogGreen

There’s more on it at Auto Fiends, but the link from there to the Hungarian company leads you to a site in (gasp) Hungarian.

Yes, Hungarian auto manufacturer Antro revealed the concept car with a unique interior and an ultra-lightweight body … just 600 pounds of carbon fiber goodness. Powered by a diesel / electric hybrid, the vehicle achieves 117 MPG city and an astounding 157 MPG on the highway, with top speed a respectable 87 MPH. Unfortunately, the three-seater has four wheels, making it subject to our safety rules for heavy, gas guzzling cars. We’ll probably never see it tooling up the Pacific Coast Highway, but at least we can think of those beautiful Hungarian granddaughters of the Gabor sisters racing around Budapest waving and saying “hullo, dahrling!”

Is one of those three seats empty?
