Stay Denied: Theft Goes Forward

June 10th, 2009

The Supreme Court did not grant the stay, allowing the government’s theft of the rights of the bond holders to go forward. But as the Washington Post reports, the matter is far from settled:

After four days of competing petitions and responses, the Supreme Court in effect decided to stay out of the case. The unsigned opinion said the “denial of a stay is not a decision on the merits of the underlying legal issues.”

Let’s hope the bond holders, cheated by the Federal Government’s usurpation of bankruptcy law, file suit after they are actually injured.

At some point, some court has to decide if this is legal. I mean, we are a nation of laws. Aren’t we?
