The cockpit seats have hatches in them, and getting hatch covers to fit has been a chore.  I have a small amount of twist (or bend?) from front to back along the front face of the cockpit seats, and that makes the 1/4" marine plywood -- which is prefectly flat -- bulge out at the corners.  An optical illusion then makes the plywood look warped.
The plans call for one disk in the center to act as a latch.  Here, I'm using two, and it seems to work OK.  I cut the disks out of 4/4 phillipine mahogany, then resawed them to 1/4" thick.  When finished, they will be the same color as the marine plywood hatch covers.
Here is the port hatch cover, as well as the hatch cover for the lazarette. The closure discs are stained the same color as the hatch covers, so they blend in pretty well.  If I had it to do over again, I probably would have left the openings without the backing pieces for the hatch covers to rest against, and gone without the hatch covers in the seats.  A bungee-net like you see across the back of pickups would have worked as well to keep items from falling out.
